A junior golf team from Preston Golf Club, sponsored by Bowker BMW, has finished second at the North Lancashire Junior Golf Association Finals Day.

The event, held on Sunday, 14th September at Penwortham Golf Club brought together qualifying junior teams from across North Lancashire to compete in the final tournament of the season.

Max Cooke, representing Preston Golf Club, won the individual Stableford competition. His teammate Teddy Parker achieved the lowest gross score of the day with a round of 72. Both players contributed to the team’s overall runner-up position.

Karl Ramalli, junior organiser at Preston Golf Club, said: “It was an amazing day for all the kids. Max and Teddy were brilliant – they’ve worked hard all year, so it was brilliant to see them get that recognition. To finish second as a team was a great end to the season, and the lads should all be really proud.”

The North Lancashire Junior Golf Association Finals Day marks the conclusion of the junior golf calendar in the region. Organised by the North Lancashire Junior Golf Association (NLJGA), the annual tournament invites the season’s top-performing junior teams from regional clubs. Players compete in various formats, including individual Stableford and gross score competitions, with points contributing to their team’s final standing.

Bowker BMW, the team’s sponsor, entered a three-year partnership with Preston Golf Club earlier this year. The support includes funding for team kit, coaching, equipment, and competitions. The dealership’s branding features on team apparel and throughout the club’s facilities.

Jonathan Rogan, of Bowker BMW in Preston, said: “We’ve been following the team’s progress all year and it’s been brilliant to see the difference the support is making. They’ve put in a lot of effort, and it really showed in the finals – it’s great to be part of something that’s helping local kids enjoy the sport and develop their skills.”

The Preston Golf Club junior section currently includes over 100 young members, with more than 60 taking part in coaching and competitions. The season concludes with the Adam Scott Trophy and is supported by year-round coaching, including winter access to the club’s driving range.
